I'm a storyteller raised and rooted in the historic city of Detroit. I'm drawn to spaces where power, identity, and culture merge. My work blends psychological realism with high-stakes espionage, not to glorify institutions, but to examine what happens to those who operate within the shadows.
I grew up loving language before I understood its power-first through the rhythm and wordplay of my favorite artists, then through writers who refused to flatten the Black experience into something palatable for a white audience. Literary giants like Ralph Ellison, Toni Morrison, and James Baldwin taught me that storytelling isn't simply about plot, but about giving name to the tension existing between who we are and who we are expected to be. About codifying our experience in the American lore, even when opposed.
My spy series follows Trent Wright and Jazmena Vargas, two spies who wrestle with their place within morally ambiguous systems while seeking answers to the problems that plague them. Trent and Jazmena struggle to come to terms with their participation in the shrouded intelligence world, each having their own exit strategy in mind. This series is an interrogation of loyalty, love, and the operational cost of power.
I write for readers who expect artistic honesty. For those who want layered characters and stories that don't end neatly. I'm not interested in preserving fantasy. I write to give my son, and those children like him, a new story.
